Little Things Lab collaborated with the Orchard Knob Neighborhood Association, Chattanooga Design Studio, Parkridge Hospital and Ortwein Signage to design and install new neighborhood signs, as outlined in the community's How-To-Guide.

The old wooden signs were worn, small and randomly placed. In 2022, Kentucky students presented solutions, sparking excitement about new signage. We held community workshops with CDS and Ortwein to determine locations and sign style. Four new signs were implemented in fall 2023.

The final booklet uses velum overlayed sketches for what the neighborhood could be over real site images of the current area. Each of these projects have been identified by the residents in the neighborhood association. The Guide helped outline the deliverables needed to make real place-based change in the neighborhood.

The final outcome of the students work was a public realm action plan that includes history of the area, site analysis, and creative concepts for some of the How To Guide deliverables.
